Makeup for Older Ladies

Remember Lauren Hutton? She’s the supermodel/actress from the 1960s and seventies that is now 67 y/o and still looks incredible! Her visual hallmark is without question the widegap between her front teeth. She took her lemons and made it into lemonade.

Lauren had great success in her 20s and 30s but seemed to disappear for a time. She reappeared on the modeling scene at the “advanced” age of forty-six and has had a second incredibly lucrative career. In addition to her new found success in front of the camera she has developed a line of cosmetics for the older woman in which she promises to make the “mature woman” look decidedly younger.

She calls her new makeup line her “face disc” system and it became popular as the result of an “As Seen on TV” campaign. The face disc looks like a BIG compact with 11 “pots” of makeup and a large mirror. All 11 pots and brushes are color-coordinated to make applying the makeup easier. Plus, with the color codes it is much easier to follow her outstanding instructional video. She promises that her system will to turn back the clock for the “mature woman. To facilitate picking the proper colors for the user’s particular skin tone, she simplified the system to four basic skin colors: pink, yellow, olive and dark. No head scratching whether you need “honey beige” or “sand beige!”

Lauren Hutton asserts – and it sounds [legit|reasonable|right] – that as a woman ages slightly restricted blood flow to the face eliminates the glow of young-looking skin and causes fine lines to appear. Lauren says that applying store-bought makeup leaves a heavy, caked-on look because the fine lines and pores become filled with the foundation and the “color.” And who wants to look like they are wearing too much makeup?

The disparity of older skin and store-bought makeup causes the “caked-on-look” no matter how lightly the user tries to apply her “war paint”. The 11 pots in Lauren Hutton’s face disc system – along with learning Lauren Hutton’s unique application techniques from the DVD instruction – allow the user to bring into being a sheer appearance giving the mature woman’s face an smooth, polished glow.

Independent feedback on the Internet are very positive with the exception of one universal negative: that the user must watch the instructional DVD to master the technique (which Hutton herself recommends). There seems to be agreement that watching and following the DVD instruction is imperative to maximize the age reversing benefits of her face disc. This complaint seems legit and the product sounds just right for the mature woman who is looking for a more effective yet simple make up routine. Remember Lauren Hutton? Lauren had a good run in her twenties and 30s but appeared to fade away for a time. She reappeared on the modeling scene at the “ripe old” age of 46 and has had a second remarkably successful career.
